Open the Assign Lot window.

The Assign Lot window opens when the following is in place:

The fields on the Assign Lot window are populated as follows:

FieldDescription
Document DateDocument date from the journal that the Item Tracking Lines window was opened from. The date cannot be changed.
Expiration Date

The value is a calculated value. The calculated value can be blank, the document date plus the item's expiration calculation or the production date plus the item's expiration calculation. For example, if the document date is 12/15/2016 and the expiration is 2Y (2 years), the expiration date is 12/15/2018.

If you manually enter a value, that will override the calculated value.

The calculation is based on the following:

  • Value in the Expiration Calculation field on the Item Card window.

  • Value in the Expiration Date Calc. field on the Inventory Setup window

The following lists how the Expiration Date value is calculated based on the value in the Expiration Date Calc. field on the Inventory Setup window:

  • Document Date or Production Date If Not Blank: If the production date is not blank, then the field is populated with the production date plus the item's expiration calculation. If the production date is blank, the field is populated with the document date plus the item's expiration calculation. If the Production Date field is updated, this field is also updated.

  • Production Date Only: Populated with the production date plus the item's expiration calculation. If the production date is blank, the field is left blank. If the Production Date field is updated, this field is also updated.

  • Document Date Only: Populated with the document date plus the item's expiration calculation.  If the document date is blank, the field is left blank.

The field cannot be blank if the item's lot algorithm has a value of Expiration Date in the Date to Use field. This is because the expiration date will be used when creating the lot number.

Production Date

Field is blank, and can be changed. If a value is entered, and the Expiration Date field is based on the production date, when you tab off of the Production Date field, the Expiration Date field is updated.

The field cannot be blank if the item's lot algorithm has a value of Production Date in the Date to Use field. This is because the production date will be used when creating the lot number.
