You can add a day-identifier to the To-production bin defined for a location, work center and machine center. This is helpful for companies who use full-bin consumption but are unable to post the consumption until the following day.
From a location, work center or machine center, you can set JustFoodERP to use the Bin+Day algorithm, which adds a number to the end of the To-production bin that indicates the day the production order started. The days are indicated as follows:
- 1-Monday
- 2-Tuesday
- 3-Wednesday
- 4-Thursday
- 5-Friday
- 6-Saturday
- 7-Sunday
If production was started on Monday, the To-production bin would end in 1 (for example, INBOUND1).
To see information about the logic of how a bin is selected, see Filling the Consumption Bin.
Once JustFoodERP knows which bin to use, it will check the To-Production Bin Algorithm field of the corresponding location, work center or machine center.
To set up To-production bins with the day-identifier
You should create the To-production bins with the day-identifiers for the your locations.
In the Search box, enter Locations, and then choose the related link.
-
Open the location that you want to add the bins to.
-
On the Home tab, click Bins.
-
Add the To-production bins with the day-identifier added to the end. For example, if your To-production bin is INBOUND, then add the following bins: INBOUND1, INBOUND2, INBOUND3, INBOUND4, INBOUND5, INBOUND6, and INBOUND7.
-
Click OK.
To set up locations, work centers and machine centers to use the Bin+Day algorithm
You need to define if a location, work center and machine center will use the Bin+Day algorithm.
Open a location, work center, or machine center card.
-
On the Bins FastTab (location) or the Warehouse FastTab (work and machine center), select Bin+Day in the To-Production Bin Algorithm field.
-
Click OK.
When a production order is refreshed or a production order is created or changed by the planning system, when you look at the Components window, the Bin Code field shows the To-production bin plus the number that represents the start date of the production order. If production was started on Wednesday, the To-production bin would end in 3 (for example, INBOUND3).
