You can release both a planned production order and a firm planned production order by changing its status.
To release a production order by changing status
In the Search box, enter Firm Planned Prod. Order, and then choose the related link.
Select the production order to be released.
On the Actions tab, in the Functions group, choose Change Status.
In the New Status field, select Released.
Fill in the other fields as follows.
Posting Date
Enter the posting date to be used for any automatic posting.
Update Unit Cost
Select the field to update the unit cost of the produced item and any production orders or sales orders related to this item.
Choose the Yes button. The production order is now released.
