- Quantity of the items that are required for all of the selected production orders
- Bin(s) from which the items should be picked
When creating the bulk pick, you have the option of breaking the bulk item before moving it (see Example 1), or of moving the full quantity without breaking it (see Example 2).
Example 1 - Break Bulk
Two production orders were created for Muffin JFG-1000. For both production orders, a total of 550kgs of chocolate chips and 660kgs of flour are required.
A bulk pick is created from the Inventory Movement window.
The Move Full Break Bulk Quantity check box is not selected, which means that amounts will be broken before moving to the To-Production bin (INBOUND).
See the Chocolate Chip item (JFR-001035) in the screen shot below to see how the item was broken in the A1 bin.
The bulk pick that is created, shows the quantities that need to be taken from and placed in the bins for both production orders.
For the chocolate chips, the item was originally in pallets (PLT). The pallet is taken out of the bin, and broken up into kilograms, which results in 960kgs being placed back into the A1 bin.
Then the 550kgs required for the production orders is taken out, and placed in the To-Production bin (INBOUND).
Example 2 - Move Full Break Bulk Quantity
Two production orders were created for Muffin JFG-1000. For both production orders, a total of 550kgs of chocolate chips and 660kgs of flour are required.
A bulk pick is created from the Inventory Movement window.
The Move Full Break Bulk Quantity check box is selected, which means that items will NOT be broken before moving to the To-Production bin (INBOUND).
See the Chocolate Chip item (JFR-001035) in the screen shot below to see how the item was moved to the INBOUND bin.
The bulk pick that is created, shows the quantities that need to be taken from and placed in the bins for both production orders.
For the chocolate chips, the item was originally in pallets (PLT). When the Move Full Break Bulk Quantity check box is selected, the pallet is converted to kilograms, and then the entire kilogram weight is placed in the To-Production bin (INBOUND).
